Sunset Capri
Due to a total restoration of his 1930’s Spanish-style home, suave, bookish, vampire Nigel Winslow is forced to live at the Sunset Capri, a fabulous mid-century modern apartment building he owns high up in the Hollywood Hills.
But his stay at the Capri is anything but fabulous – the property management company is lacking on the upkeep, his personal assistant suddenly quits and leaves Nigel fending for himself, and he finds himself interacting with and being drawn into the lives of the Sunset Capri residents – a rich, spoiled punk-rock princess, a soft-hearted, big shot Hollywood agent, and a mysterious female police officer that Nigel becomes obsessed with.
Dealing with neighbor drama while trying to keep his identity as a blood-sucking creature of the night a secret has Nigel regretting not staying at a hotel. But with it’s amazing view, ample parking, and blood-filled tenants, the Sunset Capri is an apartment building most people are dying to move into.
Sunset Capri is a story about blood, bonding, and big dreams in early 1980s Los Angeles.
Leaving Slumberland
It’s the year 2005 and for October “Tobe” Miller, life is going pretty well. Due to her art being discovered on MySpace, Tobe is the newest and hottest thing in the art world. This has finally allowed her to follow her dream of leaving her hometown of Slumberland and moving to Los Angeles with her best friend, Isaac. Tobe gets an offer of $100,000 for her collection from a mystery art buyer with the condition that one new piece of art must be created after the purchase. With her head and heart ready to go, Tobe happily signs the contract and starts packing her boxes. But with it being Slumberland, nothing can ever go smoothly: Isaac decides at the last minute not to join her in L.A. because of his nasty new girlfriend, Tobe’s father has a heart attack, her boyfriend Brandon starts acting weird and suspicious, and her eventual transformation into a full-fledged vampire is happening sooner than later. Despite these hurdles, Tobe tries to remain positive and continues with her plan to get the Hell out of Slumberland. Until she meets the mystery art buyer. Now with her world turned upside down and her moving plans derailed, Tobe must reach deep inside herself if she ever plans on getting out of Slumberland…….dead or alive.
sLUMBERLAND OR DIE
Slumberland has always been dark and lame, but one thing it wasn't prepared for was the arrival of a mysterious punk-rock poser named Grave Danger. And October “Tobe” Miller isn't having any of it – first he moves inside her house, then on to her dad, and then into her life! With his disgusting behavior, obnoxious demeanor, and bad taste in music, Tobe wishes he would just disappear and her home life would return to normal (if by normal you mean a mad scientist making a monster in his lab and his TV obsessed, half-vampire daughter).
And Tobe's not the only one that wants him gone – plenty of her friends and family would love to see Grave leave Slumberland permanently. Like with everything else in her life, Tobe finds herself at the crossroads of good and evil, and with her hatred of Grave growing more and more each day, she may finally give in to the darkness that haunts her soul. After all, it's not like she can't pick up some death tips and tricks from her super sexy vampire boyfriend.
Schemes will be hatched, alliances will be formed, and revenge will be sweet, like the aroma of Tobe's clove cigarettes. Who knew that the unfortunate arrival and deadly departure of a rude and crude dude would bring Slumberland together?
iT’S A TERRIBLE LIFE: a vERY sLUMBERLAND cHRISTMAS
October 'Tobe' Miller has finally had enough of living, and decides to end it all by waiting for the sun to rise to turn her vampire-self into a pile of ash. On that chilly December morning, an angel arrives to help Tobe see that her life is worth living. But will Tobe take his advice or will she prove to him and everyone else in Slumberland that she does indeed live a terrible life?
Welcome to slumberland
October “Tobe” Miller is foul-mouthed, spoiled, and still lives at home with her mad-scientist father and a cat named Simon Le Bon. She wastes her days away with old television, cheap booze, and expensive cigarettes, while spending her nights at the local goth club with her friends. When a sexy and mysterious neighbor moves in next door and dead bodies start showing up all over Slumberland, Tobe's boring life gets the unexpected excitement it needed. But between dealing with her overly protective father, fighting with her sworn enemy, making sure she gets to the club on time, being bothered by the lame assortment of townies, and falling for the new neighbor, Tobe wishes she could go back to the days of sleeping til' noon and listening to Morrissey all night. But it's all just another day in Slumberland.
